It happens here too.

How you can cover up an outbreak, hoard supplies and information, export faulty supplies made by slaves, simultaneously invade Hong Kong, and come out on the other side smelling like a rose. Can I Quote You on That?

Gell-Mann Amnesia

Image
Michael Crichton (yes, that one) made an observation almost twenty years ago. He described something he coined as the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect: " Media carries with it a credibility that is totally undeserved. You have all experienced this, in what I call the Murray Gell-Mann Amnesia effect [...]  Briefly stated, the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect is as follows. You open the newspaper to an article on some subject you know well. In Murray's case, physics. In mine, show business. You read the article and see the journalist has absolutely no understanding of either the facts or the issues. Often, the article is so wrong it actually presents the story backward—reversing cause and effect. I call these the "wet streets cause rain" stories. Paper's full of them. In any case, you read with exasperation or amusement the multiple errors in a story, and then turn the page to national or international affairs, and read as if the rest of the newspaper was somehow more accurate ab...

Non-Correlation

Excellent food for thought and reflection. Of note is the reason why the original models that were used to trigger lockdowns were so wrong: They failed to consider cumulative spontaneous changes in individual behavior. That is, they assumed top-down intervention was the only thing that would change people’s behavior.  sfu.ca Here is a good interview with the author to listen to while cleaning out your pantry (just fast forward a couple of minutes while they get into it): https://youtu.be/GVsQdUa9_Ds

Without a twenty fifth hour in the day, I must resort to a standing, jumping, ringing, singing endorsement of  today’s episode of the Ben Shapiro show. It is a series of stories that got run with and have now fallen apart juxtaposed against a series of the latest verifiable stories that are being actively buried for excuses that don’t hold water. It used to be that you had to witness these slight differences on a daily basis for weeks in order to sign on to it being the result of corrupt commitment to a single narrative. Watch the following and see if all it takes anymore is a single day’s worth of observations: youtu.be

My Birthday Wish

Today is my birthday. For my birthday wish, I wish for you to read Georgia’s new bill SB 202 and compare your reading of it to what you’ve heard about it. It’s 95 pages, but it’s double spaced and full of breaks.  legis.ga.gov My birthday wish is for more people to free their minds from the old and broken notion that the cumulative voice of the heads of newsrooms, Hollywood, sports organizations, and major corporations constitutes de facto truth. That the small handful of people controlling the nation’s dialogue aren’t corrupted or compelled by coordinated activists and elite echo chambers.  I read this bill last night. I submit that 99% of people who have voiced an opinion about it have not and are just trusting someone else about it. Read it.
